US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the
US Department of Energy (DOE), Awards Shwinco Industries
of Panama City, FL Energy Star Qualification
Panama City, Florida September 3,
2004 - The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
in cooperation with the US Department of Energy (DOE) has
qualified Shwinco Industries to utilize the ENERGY STAR
label on its products.
Established in 1992, ENERGY STAR is a dynamic government/industry
partnership that offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient
solutions, making it easy to save money while protecting
the environment for future generations. According to the
Energy Star website (www.energystar.gov), "ENERGY STAR
qualified windows, doors, and skylights (like those manufactured
by Shwinco Industries) save you energy and money, increase
the comfort of your home, and protect your valuable possessions
from sun damage. They are also better for the environment
because lowering your energy use means less air pollution
from power plants."
Awarded this coveted achievement, the Lynn Haven, FL manufacturer
has reached a pivotal industry milestone. Every ENERGY STAR
qualified window, door, and skylight is independently certified
to perform at levels that meet or exceed strict energy efficiency
guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Energy. "The
ENERGY STAR label is a major achievement for us", said
Shwinco Pres/CEO Craig Shipp Sr., "Built on the coast,
for the coast, we always knew our windows were energy efficient,
but now we have the added notoriety of this prestigious
Government agency's seal of approval." This qualification
takes the rapidly growing company into a new phase where
it is primed to expand outside its current area of influence
into new markets along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts.
